Uruguay recorded a trade deficit of $111.72 million in February 2025, shrinking from the $140.08 million deficit in the same month last year, marking a six-month streak of deficits. Exports soared 16.4% year-on-year to $748.36 million, driven by a rise of 10.0% in manufactured goods, a 33.0% surge in primary goods, and a 15.4% rise in utilities. Imports also grew, rising 14.3% to $860.08 million, with intermediate goods rising 4.5%, consumer goods up 23.7% and capital goods increasing 26.5%.
