Portugal's unemployment rate stood at 6.6% in October 2024, slightly above market expectations of 6.4%, with September’s figure also revised upward to 6.6%. The number of unemployed individuals decreased marginally to 357.9 thousand from 358.2 thousand in the prior month, while the employed population rose to 5.106 million from 5.103 million. Both the employment rate and the labor force participation rate remained steady at 64.3% and 68.8%, respectively.
