The Bank of Uganda left its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 9.75% on February 6th, 2025, marking the second consecutive meeting with no adjustments. Policymakers stated that near-term inflation appeared well-contained but the outlook was more uncertain than normal due to external risks. The annual inflation rate in Uganda accelerated to a six-month high of 3.6% in January but remained below the central bank's medium-term target of 5%.
