Tunisia's economy advanced by 1.0% year-on-year in Q2 2024, following an upwardly revised 0.3% expansion in the preceding three-month period. It marked the fastest pace since the fourth quarter of 2022, mainly boosted by agriculture, forestry & fishing (8.3% vs 2.6% in Q1), production and distribution of electricity and gas (6.9% vs 5.7%), transportation & storage (1.2% vs 0.9%), accommodation and restaurant (8.2% vs 6.7%), and information and communication (2.5% vs 2.5%). For the first half of 2024, the economy grew by 0.6%. According to the National Institute of Statistics, the GDP has not yet reached the level recorded at the end of 2019, before the pandemic. On a quarterly basis, the GDP expanded by 0.2% in Q2 2024, after a 0.6% rise in the previous quarter.
