Sweden’s trade surplus narrowed to SEK 7.2 billion in November 2024 from SEK 10.4 billion in the same month last year. Exports fell 4.4% year-on-year to SEK 181.3 billion, with declines in sales to both EU countries (-2.7% to SEK 102.2 billion) and non-EU countries (-6.6% to SEK 79.1 billion). Meanwhile, imports decreased at a softer 2.9% to SEK 174.1 billion, reflecting lower purchases from both EU (-2.9% to SEK 119.8 billion) and non-EU countries (-2.9% to SEK 54.3 billion). On a seasonally adjusted basis, the trade surplus rose to SEK 4.7 billion in November from SEK 4.2 billion in the previous month. For the January to November 2024 period, the trade surplus reached SEK 61 billion, up from SEK 44.6 billion in the same period last year.
