Luxembourg’s trade deficit widened to EUR 0.74 billion in November 2024, from EUR 0.73 billion in the same month of the previous year. Year-on-year, exports declined by 3.1% to EUR 1.25 billion, primarily due to lower sales for mineral fuels and lubricants (-33.5%), machinery and equipment (-12.6%), and manufactured goods of primary materials (-5.8%). Shipments dropped the most for Japan (-70%), Germany (-8.8%), and France (-3.7%). Meanwhile, imports fell at a softer 1.1% to EUR 1.99 billion, with purchases decreasing for manufactured goods of primary materials (-14.7%), mineral fuels and lubricants (-6.6%), and machinery and equipment (-4.5%). Arrivals plunged mostly for Japan (-43.5%), Belgium (-8.5%), and France (-2.9%).
