Georgia’s gross domestic product advanced by 9.6% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2024, up from an 8.4% increase in the previous three-month period. It was the strongest economic expansion since the fourth quarter of 2022, as output growth accelerated mainly for agriculture (10.6% vs 0.7% in Q1), manufacturing (11% vs 2.9%), accommodation & food service activities (35.7% vs 8.5%), and administrative & support service activities (13.1% vs 6.6%). Moreover, output declined less for other service activities (-1.4% vs -11.2%). Meanwhile, output slowed for information & communications (7.9% vs 12.2%), real estate (1% vs 18.8%), professional, scientific & technical activities (12.7% vs 16%), and education (21.3% vs 29.1%).
