Prices of new homes in Canada rose 0.9 percent over a month earlier in October of 2021, quickening from a 0.4 percent gain in September and beating market forecasts of 0.5 percent. New house prices were up in 15 of the 27 census metropolitan areas surveyed, led by Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo (+3.8 percent) and London (2.4 percent), given their proximity to Toronto. Meanwhile, new home prices in Victoria rose the most since 2002 (+3.3 percent), amid robust demand and diminishing supplies. On an annual basis, new house prices jumped 11.5 percent in October.
