Schweden Arbeitslosenquote

The unemployment rate in Sweden rose to 8% in December 2024, up from 7.7% in the same month of the previous year. This marked the highest unemployment rate since September, as the number of unemployed people increased by 21 thousand to 454 thousand, while employment grew by 2 thousand to 5.19 million. The employment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points to 68.1%, while the labor force participation rate advanced by 0.1 percentage points to 74.1%. The average number of total hours worked in December amounted to 148.1 million per week. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate stood at 8.5%, unchanged from the preceding period.
