This marked the lowest reading since December 2023, as expectations regarding the general economic situation over the next year deteriorated sharply (-36 vs -25 in March). In addition, sentiment turned pessimistic regarding household financial situations (-2 vs 5). Moreover, attitudes toward major purchases in the coming year became more negative (-28 vs -16), and the outlook for savings decreased (45 vs 50). Lastly, concerns about future unemployment (46 vs 33) heightened notably.
