Poland's annual inflation rate edged up to 4.8% in December 2024 from 4.7% in the previous month, but slightly below market expectations of 5%. Prices increased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.8%) and energy (+12%). Meanwhile, costs declined for fuels for personal transport equipment (-3.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices eased to 0.2% in December 2024 from 0.5% in the previous month, marking the lowest reading since September.
