Poland recorded a trade deficit of EUR 2,244 million in August 2024, close to a new 2-year high, and up from EUR 116 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, as imports rose and exports fell. Imports increased by 4.9% to EUR 27,196 million, primarily driven by higher purchases of consumer goods, particularly durable goods, along with stable imports of capital goods. Meanwhile, exports dropped 3.3% to EUR 24,952 million, with the most significant decreases seen in the export of capital goods, supply goods, and consumer goods.
