Poland recorded a trade gap of EUR 740 million in October 2024, compared to a surplus of EUR 709 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, as imports rose much faster than exports. Imports surged by 6.6% to EUR 31,051 million, mainly boosted by purchases of consumer goods, particularly household appliances and clothing; agricultural products and means of transportation. Meanwhile, exports rose only 1.5% to EUR 30,311 million, as higher shipments of agricultural goods were offset by declines in five of the six categories, primarily transport equipment and products classified as capital goods.
