Greece's trade deficit narrowed slightly to EUR 3.1 billion in December 2024 from EUR 3.4 billion in the corresponding month of the previous year, as exports rose while imports dropped. Exports increased 7.8% year-on-year to EUR 4.0 billion, driven by higher sales to third countries (11.6%) and the EU (4.6%). Meanwhile, imports fell 0.2% to EUR 7.1 billion, as lower imports from third countries (-2%) offset a rise in imports from the EU (1.4%). For the full year of 2024, the country’s trade gap widened to EUR 34.6 billion from EUR 32.1 billion in 2023, as exports declined (-2.2%) while imports grew (1.7%).
