The EU and Indonesia have reached a political agreement to advance their Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Sunday. The deal aims to boost trade in key sectors such as agriculture and automotive. "There's a lot of untouched potential in our trade relationship, and this agreement comes at the right time," von der Leyen said during a press conference with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, highlighting its role in opening new markets. Prabowo welcomed the move, saying, "We consider Europe to be very important to us. That's why we would like to see more European presence and participation in our economy." He added that in a time of global uncertainty, the deal sets "a right example."
