Employment in Australia rose by 32.2 thousand to 14.54 million in March 2025, less than market forecasts of a 40 thousand increase. This rebound followed a revised 57.4 thousand decline in February, the first drop in 11 months. Full-time jobs climbed by 15.0 thousand to a four-month high of 10.01 million, recovering from a 35.7 thousand fall in February. Meanwhile, part-time employment grew by 17.2 thousand to 4.53 million, reversing a 13.7 thousand decline. Over the year to March, total employment expanded by 308.0 thousand or 2.2%. This annual growth rate is slightly higher than the 20-year pre-pandemic average of 2.0%.
